Our Story

In honor and memory of Andrew Connor Baltodano

11/4/2000 - 06/10/2018

Andrew's Anthem was born after the loss of my 17 year old son, Andrew, to suicide in June 2018. Andrew was a bright boy; so loving, kind, gentle, funny and a wonderful artist and musician. We did not know that he was struggling in silence. While we could see all the amazing things that made him unique he did not and, in fact, he experienced lots of self-loathing. I later realized that while we loved him and he loved us, he needed a community of support and resilience tools beyond his family to navigate his internal challenges.

Andrew's Anthem, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, was founded to teach young people, ages 10-24, how to manage stress, practice self-compassion and connect with others in a healthy way.

Our primary goal is to make a positive impact on those we serve and to an age group for which suicide is the second leading cause of death.

Our mission is to create a community of support, a space of non-judgement and connection and equip youth and young adults with the skills they need to navigate challenges in life. We do this by offering programs that provide coping skills and resilience strategies; mainly focusing on creating community, mindfulness practices, creative expression, connection with nature and acts of service.

I am glad you found us and my greatest desire is that as an organization we can serve as a foundation of support for our community.

I personally want you to know that I see you and I care.

With Loving Kindness,

Laura, Andrew's Mom
